A day at the MiSO table

How a day works

From materials to the seal

Illustrative outline; the order of the day varies by craft and mentor. TBC
Morning
01 · Set up

The table is laid

The mentor arrives with the day’s materials: beads and cord, wax and resin, fabric, paint or driftwood.
Morning
02 · Learn

One technique, step by step

The artist demonstrates a single technique. Questions are welcome, and nobody is rushed.
Midday
03 · Make

Her own piece

Each woman works on her own piece while the mentor moves around the table, helping where needed.
Afternoon
04 · Finish

The seal of quality

Pieces that meet the MiSO standard are finished and labelled with the MiSO seal.
After the day
05 · Share outside

Into the world

The work leaves KIA for ArtisA Gallery, Space21 and artisaruba.com. Every sale goes to the maker’s reintegration fund.
